         Dr. Stephen Black is consultant vascular surgeon at Guys
       and St Thomas hospital and professor in venous surgery of
       King College. He is known worldwide and is a pioneer in new
       cutting-edge technologies.   Dr. Black discusses a new tool
       to  address  the  chronic  inflammation  associated  with  DVT.
       The Mercator Bullfrog microinfusion device is a ground brea-
       king tool that is being explored.  This podcast delves into
       how  this exciting new tool works and it possible uses.

       access: What does it mean?



         Dr. Ruth Bush, the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Vascu-
       lar Surgery – Venous and Lymphatic Disorders and president
       elect for the American Venous Forum, talks about the tran-
       sition of the JVS - VL to open access on this audio podcast.
       During this podcast, she explores what does open access
       mean for the readers, authors and reviewers, what waivers
       are there for authors and the timeline for these changes.  As
       more and more medical journals are transitioning to open
       access, this represents an important step forward for making
       research available for all online, free of access charges or
       other barriers.
